The BEST pâtisserie in Toulouse

After a lot of hard work (and yes, we can also call it cake tasting) I can firmly say I'm sharing with you my favorite patisserie in Toulouse: Antoine FORNARA. This place is a paradise of viennoiseries, chocolates, cakes, macarons and artisanal spreads. One visit and you will be drooling in a second! Wondering what are my recommendations? Come and see!

First, because everyday is better with a bit of butter, start with their croissants. They are the perfect combination between crunchiness and fluffiness.

For the gourmands like me I recommend to fill it (generously, less is not always more) with pistachio spread. You can buy both in the shop, the PERFECT combination. It will leave you speechless. If you are wondering how to cut the croissant in half, check this picture where I´m executing this delicate technique.

WARNING! It might create addiction, eat it in moderation.

Either if you are looking for a delicious cake to pair your coffee with or to impress your partner´s parents, this is the place to go. They are so good that they will forgive that time you forgot them at the airport. They have A LOT of different types as they create new seasonal cakes very often. If you are the prepared type, feel free to check their web where they have posted their classics.

From my side, my favorite is made of the best praliné cream and coulant you´ve ever tasted, choux pastry and crunchy caramelized hazelnuts. This heavenly cake is called Paris Brest.

Fun fact

The Paris Brest was created in 1909 as an award for the winner of the 1200 km Paris-Brest-Paris bicycle race. Is this the reason for its wheel shape? Maybe. All we know for sure is that today is one of the most famous pastries in France. Merci Louis Durand!

In case you are still not convinced to visit this amazing place and because a picture is worth a 1000 words let me tempt you with some:

Here is the address, what are you waiting for?
